I have finally decided to write down some of my observations and thoughts. Although many of my topics may appear random, I will try to integrate them with the topic of Robots. By Robots, I mean any piece of software or physical item that provides some basic level of human intelligence.

Three Significant Trends
I believe there are three significant trends that will have the biggest impact on our world in the future. These are:
- Inequality
- Climate Change. and of course,
- Robots
Inequality (the growing share of the wealthy and increasing number of working poor) is increasing in the developed world at a alarming rate. With books, such as Capital in the Twenty-First Century (by Thomas Piketty), we have become aware of this growing problem. Solutions are not easy and may even require us to reinvent our political and commercial systems - yes I mean capitalism.
Climate Change is real and already impacting us. Even though there will be a major cost to correct our past reluctance to prevent Climate Change, we are now starting to act and I am somewhat confident we will prevent a complete disaster. Although the benefits of our past actions benefited the wealthy, the future costs to mitigate the negative impact of Climate Change will be borne by all of us which will further increase inequality unless we act accordingly.
Similar to most technology we create, Robots will have a very positive impact on our life including freeing us up with the drudgery of work no one wants to do. Robots could help us mitigate Climate Change and if implemented properly actually reduce inequality.
Unfortunately, there is a dark side of Robots. Robots could substantially increase unemployment and actual increase inequality - who owns the Robots! Furthermore, some of our leading scientists and entrepreneurs think that the development of Robots with advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and who can replicate themselves could lead to the elimination of humankind.
